Therapeutic Yoga


Ayurveda and yoga are sister Vedic sciences that have been united for thousands of years for the sake of healing body, mind, and consciousness. Generally speaking, Ayurveda deals more with the health of the body, while yoga deals with purifying the mind and consciousness, but in reality they complement and embrace each other. Both encourage physical health as a good foundation for mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Yogasanas and pranayama exercise the internal organs of the chest and abdominal cavity. This helps to remove ama,by moving it into the GI tract,where it can be eliminated. Pranayama increases the supply of nutrition to all dhatus (tissues) and helps to expel the malas (toxins) from the body. Yogasanas help to stabilise the body and gives relief from chronic diseases like asthma,bowel disorders, arthritic complaints etc. Yoga gives strength to the body both physically and mentally. Dr.Alexander is a therapeutic yoga trainer and he gives advices on yoga.
